Christmas Day lunch around Tunbridge Wells costs £57.99 to £150 at nine pubs, hotels and restaurants. 2026 menus, children's prices, deposits and who is closed.

For Christmas Day in Tunbridge Wells, most people end up choosing between the hotels: One Warwick Park (£140), the Spa Hotel (£145) and Hotel du Vin (£124.95). Thackeray’s on London Road costs the most at £150, and the cheapest is the Robin Hood on Sandhurst Road at £57.99. Every entry was checked against the venue’s own site on 2 November 2026.

We have not eaten at any of these for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry gives the price on the venue’s own 2026 Christmas Day menu, what it includes, the deposit and booking rules the venue publishes and its Food Standards Agency (FSA) hygiene rating. All nine are rated 5. Prices exclude service charges unless we say so.

Tunbridge Wells town centre

1. Thackeray’s, London Road

Thackeray’s is the restaurant in Thackeray’s House on London Road. The restaurant describes the building as a former home of the novelist William Makepeace Thackeray and “more than 300 years old”.

Its Christmas Day Lunch 2026 menu costs £150 a head. It opens with table snacks, then starters such as hand-dived Scottish scallops or a three-bird ballotine.

The mains are roast Norfolk turkey with “all the trimmings”, potato-crusted halibut, fillet of beef or a wild mushroom pithivier, followed by a pre-dessert and then Thackeray’s Christmas pudding, a prune and tonka bean soufflé or cheese. The menu adds a discretionary 12.5% service charge.

The Christmas page says Christmas Day has “limited availability” and that the restaurant then closes from Boxing Day to 30 December and on 1 January.

2. The Spa Hotel, Mount Ephraim

The Spa Hotel is the hotel on Mount Ephraim. Its Christmas Day Lunch page costs £145 a head for a Champagne reception and canapés, then a four-course Christmas lunch, coffee and mince pies, served between 12pm and 7pm.

Bookings are by phone or email rather than online, and a menu and reservation form are linked from the page. The hotel also sells overnight packages, and its events diary lists a Christmas Eve dinner with live music.

3. One Warwick Park, The Brasserie

One Warwick Park is the 39-room hotel near the Pantiles, and Christmas Day lunch is served in its Brasserie. The hotel’s Christmas page gives three courses and a Christmas-themed welcome drink for £140 a head.

The Christmas Day menu starts with a lobster and crayfish cocktail, duck liver parfait, chestnut velouté or beetroot terrine. The mains are roast turkey, sirloin of beef, pan-fried monkfish or a Christmas nut roast.

The children’s menu is £49.50. The hotel takes tables for two up to groups of 12, has high chairs and says booking is essential.

4. Hotel du Vin, Crescent Road

Hotel du Vin’s Tunbridge Wells hotel is on Crescent Road. Its Christmas page gives a four-course Christmas Day lunch at £124.95 a head, including a glass of Champagne.

From 18 November to 24 December the bistro has a three-course Celebrations Menu from £39.95, and it also serves lunch on Boxing Day (Saturday 26 December) and New Year’s Day. The page links the hotel’s 2026 Christmas brochure and lists two- to four-night Christmas stays from £1,270.

5. The Robin Hood, Sandhurst Road

The Robin Hood is the Hungry Horse pub on Sandhurst Road. Its Christmas Day page gives three courses for £57.99 for adults and £22.99 for children.

Starters include a smoked salmon and prawn cocktail and tomato soup, and the main is hand-carved turkey with roast potatoes, two Yorkshire puddings, stuffing and pigs in blankets. There is also a menu without gluten-containing ingredients.

The pub takes a £10 deposit for each adult and £5 for each child. Pre-orders opened on 21 October, and from 18 December you have to phone to book.

Southborough, Langton Green and Eridge

6. Salomons Estate, Broomhill Road, Southborough

Salomons Estate is the Victorian manor house and museum on Broomhill Road, on the Southborough side of town. Its Christmas page gives a three-course Christmas Day lunch at £119 for adults and £49.50 for children.

There are three starters, one of them a game terrine, four mains including roast turkey, and four desserts including Christmas pudding, with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options on request. The estate also runs party nights and a Santa’s grotto in December.

7. The Hare, Langton Green

The Hare is the Brunning and Price pub on Langton Road in Langton Green. Its Christmas Day 2026 menu is a set menu at £109.95 a head.

Starters include a duck confit and green peppercorn terrine and a cep mushroom arancini, and the mains include roast turkey with duck fat roasties, pigs in blankets and chestnuts, or a chalk stream trout Wellington. Coffee or tea and a warm mince pie finish the meal.

Bookings are by phone or email, and the pub sends a pre-order link once you have booked. The menu marks the gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan dishes.

The pub’s booking page asks you to mention a dog in the booking notes so you get a suitable table.

8. The Nevill Crest and Gun, Eridge Green

The Nevill Crest and Gun is the Brunning and Price pub on the A26 at Eridge Green, over the county line in East Sussex. Its Christmas Day 2026 page has the same £109.95 set menu as the Hare, with the same pre-order system: you book by phone or email and the pub then sends a link for your menu choices.

Brunning and Price publish no child price for Christmas Day, so ask when you book. The FSA lists the pub under Wealden District Council.

9. The Vauxhall Inn, Vauxhall Lane, Tonbridge

The Vauxhall Inn is the Chef and Brewer pub on Vauxhall Lane at the southern edge of Tonbridge, just outside the borough. Its Christmas Day page gives three courses for £90 a head.

It also has a young guests’ Christmas Day menu and menus without gluten-containing ingredients for adults and children. The pub takes a £10 deposit for each adult and £5 for each child, and no booking is confirmed until the menu choices and the deposit have been paid.

Closed or fully booked on Christmas Day

Several well-known places around Tunbridge Wells are not serving Christmas lunch this year. The Kentish Hare at Bidborough says on its Christmas page that it is closed on Christmas Day, although its festive menu runs from 2 to 23 December. The George on Mount Ephraim says the pub is closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day and serves its Christmas set menu (two courses £30.95, three £36.95) from Thursday to Saturday in the weeks before. The Milk House at Sissinghurst closes on Christmas Day and opens again for a Boxing Day long lunch. Greene King’s Compasses on Little Mount Sion says it is fully booked for Christmas Day.
